Introduction

Deafhood is a concept which originated at University of Bristol Centre for Deaf Studies, based on Reader Dr. Paddy Ladd's (2003) book Understanding Deaf Culture: In search of Deafhood. Since then the concept has spread rapidly and around the world with Deafhood websites, organisations and productions.
