Help > Help! with a LAN or networked computer

If you are on a LAN or networked computer you may be prohibited from installing plugins (Shockwave/Flash/Quicktime).  This can result in browser page freezing if an attempt to download is made.

If so, download the latest version of the Shockwave/Flash/Quicktime installer, run it while you (or someone with administrative access) are logged in as a LAN administrator, then re-install Shockwave/Flash/Quicktime.

For Shockwave

When installing Shockwave, we strongly recommend that you do a Full Install rather than a Slim Install (which is currently the default installation on the Adobe site). To perform the Full Install please visit the Adobe alternative downloads page, and choose the correct "Full Install" for your computer operating system.

If an information technology/system support individual is installing Shockwave on your computer, be sure to have this individual log out of the computer and let you log in. Confirm that it works under your account and not just the administrative account.

If you're not on a LAN, please refer to our help section for troubleshooting guidelines for all players used on Signstation.

For LAN adminstrators who wish to distribute Shockwave/Flash on their intranet, please visit the Adobe Player Licensing page. There are no fees associated when licensing the Player Installer, and a school can be thought of as a corporation.
