Work alongside Deaf people

• Start with the quiz (to assess your knowledge). 
• Then, if you don’t have much time, check out the Ten things to know if you work alongside Deaf people.
• If you want to have some basic communication to say hello, and ask about lunch, then try our first day at work section.
• If you need a specific sign …. for a specific purpose, look at the BSL dictionary – there are picture dictionaries also for specific workplaces.
• If you have done well on the quiz, and you have a little more time - at least an hour or so - have a look at Amy & Zing's explanation of sign language and Deaf people.  (Since it is an A-Z, you can split up the time into 5 minute slots to check out one letter of the alphabet at a time).  This section is available on DVD to use for training days or for personal study.
• If you really would like to learn to sign, then have a look at our BSL course - The Company.  To do this properly, you will need at least 100 hours study time....but it is worth it.  There is an off-line version (on DVD) which you can purchase if you wish.
• If you just need some information, try the Q&A section - if you can’t find the topic you want let us know and we can probably set up the section you need.

Manage Deaf workers

• Start with the Ten things to know about Deaf people. 
• Then the Ten things to know when you are managing Deaf people.
• Try the quiz (to assess your knowledge).
• If you just need some information, try the Q&A section - if you can’t find the topic you want let us know and we can probably set up the section you need.
• If you want to know specifically about providing interpreters, have a look at the interpreter manual.
• If you want to have some basic communication to say hello, and ask about lunch, then try our first day at work section.
• If you need a specific sign …. for a specific purpose, look at the BSL dictionary – there are picture dictionaries also for specific workplaces.
